User Terms
These terms describe your use of Northstar Tutor, operated by Seven Systems. Please read them with the Privacy Policy. By using Northstar, you agree to use it under these terms. If you act for a school or another organization, you must have authority to do so.
Learning and responsible use
Northstar provides lessons, visual demonstrations, practice, and feedback for educational use. It does not award an accredited qualification or guarantee a test result. AI explanations, answers, and spoken responses can be wrong; check important information with a teacher or another trusted source. Northstar is not a medical, dental, legal, financial, or emergency service.
Use Northstar for lawful learning. Do not submit harmful or unlawful material, disclose another person’s private information, impersonate others, violate academic-integrity rules, interfere with the service, or bypass access controls. Do not reproduce or sell Northstar content beyond permissions granted by its owner or applicable law.
Young learners and optional services
Parents or guardians should supervise younger learners and authorize their use. The Anam live AI tutor is intended for people age 16 or older. A younger learner should use the lessons and quizzes without starting Anam or submitting personal information. The current classroom does not verify age.
In iPhone and iPad version 1.2, optional spoken tutoring requires your microphone permission. Earlier 1.1 builds do not enable microphone capture. Camera capture remains disabled. Microphone use in a web browser requires browser permission. Live tutoring, narration, and a requested email summary use online providers, as explained in the Privacy Policy. Starting or stopping a feature does not change the provider’s retention rules for information already sent.
Free download, preview and monthly plans
The subscription edition is free to download. General Education is USD12 per month and includes reading, quantitative reasoning, biology and general chemistry. DAT is USD199 per month and includes all General Education courses plus organic chemistry and perceptual ability. General Education + Language is USD29 per month and includes General Education plus the full Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian language course, visual lessons, listening conversations, practice and optional Sabina tutoring. DAT is separate. The DAT + General Education plan does not include Language. Purchase availability depends on your app version and store. Open Plans and purchases in the supported iOS or Android app for current availability. These are U.S. monthly price targets; the store's purchase screen shows actual purchase availability, your localized price, taxes, billing period and renewal terms before you confirm. This page does not change an existing subscription price.
One free preview lasts for a continuous 10 minutes from when you explicitly start it, including time away from the app. It does not ask for a payment method, start a subscription, renew or charge when it ends. Creating the same account again does not restart the preview. The preview includes Language. After the preview ends, the full language course, listening audio and its live tutor require General Education + Language membership or an active complimentary grant that includes Language.
Paid plans are purchased through Apple or Google and renew monthly until canceled under the store's terms. Payment and renewal dates are shown by the store. Use the app's Manage Subscriptions action or Apple's cancellation instructions or Google's cancellation instructions. Deleting Northstar or your Northstar account does not cancel store billing. Store rules determine refunds. Restore Purchases checks store purchases against the same Northstar account; access can pause if current purchase status cannot be verified.
Complimentary access
A valid indefinite complimentary grant provides only the learning scopes listed on your account, with no expiry, payment method or automatic renewal. Some accounts have General Education, DAT and Language grants together. Redeem a code on the signed-in Northstar account website, then use the same email in the app. A complimentary grant does not refund or cancel an existing paid subscription. If you already subscribe, cancel separately to stop future charges. Misuse can lead to an individual grant being revoked. Account deletion removes the grant; a retained revocation cannot be bypassed by deleting and recreating the account.
Content and saved work
Northstar’s software, branding, original learning material, and design belong to Seven Systems or their respective owners. You retain your rights in content you submit and permit its processing as needed to provide the functions you use and respond to your support requests.
Saved learning records currently depend on the browser or app’s website storage. They may be lost if that storage is cleared or unavailable. Service availability and features can change, and we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free content. Nothing in these terms limits rights or responsibilities that applicable law does not allow to be limited.
